Shocked & very sad to hear this. Jeane was a force of nature. Her passion, conviction & fearless pursuit of social justice will be sorely missed. I worked with her since the late 70s & always with awe & admiration. Thinking of Susan & many others who will be heartbroken.
First Minister @JohnSwinney has expressed his sadness following the passing of Jeane Freeman.
She served as the Minister for Social Security from 2016 to 2018. She then became Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport until her retirement in 2021.
